John Hanly
John Hanly's story started back in 1893, when Denis Hanly and his son John set up a vertical woolen mill beside the Nenagh River, in a disused flour mill in Ballyartella, North Tipperary. Over 125 years later, the family-owned woolen weavers continue to operate from the same water turbine and are proud to say that all their electricity comes from renewable sources. Brian, a fourth-generation Hanly, proudly holds the reins of the company today in Ballyartella, where the mill remains employing 32 people.
